ADAM COLLINGS' LIFELONG COMMITMENT TO THE YOSEMITE

Following the successful release of his book YOSEMITE AND THE HIGH SIERRA, best selling author Adam Collings contributed $100,000 to help provide for Yosemite's future.  "That amounted to $1 per book sold, "shared a Californian dedicated to the preservation of his environment. " American Savings Bank," he adds" having purchased 50,000 of those 100,000 copies sold, contributing a full $500,000 from proceeds garnered through selling the books at its branches statewide to Yosemite's "Return to Light" campaign (since merged with the Yosemite Association and now christened The Yosemite Conservancy).

YOSEMITE AND THE HIGH SIERRA is the second of Adam's books about California's granite cathedral.
His first, YOSEMITE/SHRINE OF THE SIERRA,was produced and published by the former Yosemite Park and Curry Company.  It too was a best seller, resulting in six printings before being retired by the Curry Company's successor Delaware North Corporation.
